Dr Katie Bunch

BPsych(Hons), PhDClinPsych, MAPS

Katie is a registered Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with children three to twelve years of age. Katie holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and has over 20 years of clinical experience across a range of settings including not-for-profit agencies, hospital in-patient setting, community health clinics and private practice.

Katie employs evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment theory and Mindfulness based interventions for a range of developmental concerns including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, grief and loss, social difficulties, self esteem and confidence, childhood trauma, adjustment issues, school-based difficulties and issues with feeding, sleeping and toileting.

Katie’s therapeutic approach is child centered and focused on providing a nurturing space to help children cope with challenges and thrive in their development. She meets the unique needs of working with young children by placing evidence-based assessments and interventions within a creative and engaging framework that incorporates play, art, movement and engagement with nature. Katie works closely with parents, carers and teachers to provide effective strategies to provide comfort, foster nurturing parent-child attachments and promote educational achievement.

 

Kim Davey

Kim is a registered Community Psychologist with a special interest in working with infants, children, young people and parents. Kim has worked across many community mental health organisations as well as private practice. Kim specialises in developmental trauma and anxiety disorders. 

Kim’s therapeutic approach is child centred, relational and strength based. Kim is comfortable working with a range of presentations including anxiety and mood concerns, trauma, neurodiversity, self-esteem and confidence and school-based difficulties. Kim integrates a number of therapeutic approaches in her treatment including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as attachment focused interventions such as Theraplay and Child-Parent Psychotherapy.

Kim is empathic, approachable and enjoys creating a safe and relaxed space for children to explore their big feelings and worries.  As part of her practice Kim places emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and works closely with parents and caregivers to enhance outcomes.
